Route itinerary
Arusha to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro Highlands
Depart early from Arusha and drive westward across the scenic agricultural highlands of Karatu and up onto the mist-shrouded rim of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
As you descend the far side, the endless savannah plains of the legendary Serengeti National Park unfold before you. Enjoy an afternoon game drive through the Seronera valley region, searching for roaming prides of lions, cheetahs hunting on the open plains, and massive herds of zebras and wildebeests.
Check into your Serengeti lodge or tented camp just in time to witness a breathtaking African sunset, followed by a hot dinner and overnight stay.
Full-Day Serengeti Game Drive
Rise with the sun for an early morning game drive when predators are most active and the golden light blankets the savannah. Spot leopards resting in acacia trees and hyenas returning from nocturnal hunts.
After breakfast back at camp or a picnic out in the wilderness, spend the full day exploring further reaches of the Serengeti ecosystem. Track elephant families along riverine woodlands and observe giraffes gracefully striding across the horizon.
Return to your lodge or tented camp in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and another peaceful night under the African stars.
Ngorongoro Crater Floor & Return to Arusha
Check out after an early breakfast and drive back toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters down into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater floor.
Experience unsurpassed wildlife concentration in this natural amphitheater, home to the Big Five—including rare black rhinos—alongside pink flamingos clustering around Lake Magadi. Enjoy your picnic lunch near the hippo pool.
In the afternoon, ascend the crater wall and begin your comfortable drive back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for your evening departure.
